International Women's Day with Shepherd and Wedderburn

Join Smart Works Scotland for a special International Women’s Day celebration as we come together to reflect, inspire, and drive change. We’ll be showcasing our ongoing efforts to tackle women’s unemployment and discussing how we can all make impactful strides toward gender equality.

Trustee Danielle Kelly is hosting an evening of inspiration and action as we present a panel of visionary leaders including

Tynah Matembe, Writer, Coach, Fintech leader and passionate advocate of financial education for inclusion and social mobility;

Tracey McNellan, Commercial Leader in broadcast and digital media, Publisher & editor-in-chief Scottish Woman magazine;

Sharon Mars Leach, Operational Leader with a deep commitment to driving innovation, digital transformation and operational excellence;

and Sunita Poddar, Social Care Leader and passionate advocate for well-being

exploring this year’s International Women’s Day theme: “Accelerate Action : speeding up the rate of progress for gender equality.”

This thought-provoking discussion will focus on the vital steps we can take to speed up progress towards gender equality—a cause that cannot wait. As the World Economic Forum highlights, at the current rate, full gender parity will not be achieved until 2158.

But, together, we can work to change this.

We are thrilled to also be launching Smart Insights, a programme of engaging events throughout 2025 and beyond that will shape purposeful, inclusive, and forward-thinking leadership.

Tickets: £25 per person, get your here

Every single penny raised will go directly to Smart Works Scotland, helping unemployed women in Scotland with the coaching, clothing and confidence to achieve their potential and transform their lives.

Don’t miss our raffle, which helps us raise even more funds to support our mission, with amazing prizes to be won, including a stunning C Nicol handbag, designed and crafted in Scotland, glassware for whisky lovers from Glencairn, and ethically sourced coffee from GlenLyon, a sustainable roastery in Aberfeldy.

Spaces are limited. Light refreshments provided.
