We are delighted to have been featured on STV’s 6 o’clock news, shining a light on the current huge demand for our service, and the impact the cost-of-living crisis and an increasingly competitive job market is having on our clients.
We had our busiest month on record in May, supporting 85 women with their dressing and coaching appointments ahead of their interviews. Through this news feature, STV has helped us to raise awareness to reach even more women across Scotland who need our help.
Our client Rachel, volunteers Elaine and Lauren, and Outreach Lead Carys did an outstanding job as spokespeople for Smart Works Scotland during their interviews with STV reporter Laura Piper, sharing the impact of our service from their perspectives.
Our client Rachel said her self-esteem has “skyrocketed” since being back in work.
“This time last year I was so nervous because the gap had been so long. The longer you leave it, the harder it is.
“Now I feel that I can do anything. I’m proof you can get better with the right resources and support.”
